Rossie Stearns is a painter and MFA Studio Art candidate at the University of Connecticut. Stearn’s work is the product of an internal metabolization of her surroundings and passive observations that are then translated into ambiguous and tangible experiences. Her intuitive process combines impulse, traditional, and experimental modes of painting, and material exploration to create work that surprises as it takes form.
Rossie is a former Grand Image Studio artist. She created work under the name Jo Stearns while in residence.
